Shadow On The Wall

from Voices In The Void by The Sparrowhawk Orkestrel

/

about

We took a lot of influence from the heavy metal bands of the eighties during this album. Rainbow (Dio years), Led Zeppelin, White Snake, Iron Maiden etc. We wanted to pay homage to these guys by writing something with three part harmonies, a cheesy chorus and a solo ( of coarse). Long live rock & roll.

lyrics

We're led to believe from the cradle until the grave.
That you're never too young and it's never too late,
to live your dreams like some fantasy on the screen.
Beware what you reach for, its not what it seems.

Its just the media mirage, they take the pretty colours,
arrange them in collage.
And its attractive so you're drawn, you heed the call,
but when you reach.....

It's just a shadow on the wall, its been behind us all along,
just a fragment of the past, and like so many things it was never meant to last.

So where is the money, and where are those stadium shows?
Where are the beautiful people so eagerly waiting to let their hearts go?
We cut the umbilical on this faze,
because people were gagging and needing a change,
from being force fed these egos that didn't ring true,
then they started to see through..

All of the media mirage, they take the pretty colours,
arrange them in collage.
And its attractive so you're drawn, you heed the call,
but when you reach.....

It's just a shadow on the wall, its been behind us all along,
just a fragment of the past, and like so many things it was never meant to last.
