The Devils Clearing

about

This was the first track written for this album, it was a joy to watch it come together so quickly.

lyrics

Roots grow through the soil from the seed.
The tree grew tall so it cuts down deep.
The fruit the sprung was so sweet.
But alas they didn't have the strength to reach up to the sun.
Then came the drought in the summer.
Leaves fell from the branches discoloured,
and the fruit left a sour taste in your mouth.
And all they wanted was a little rain,
because inspiration goes a long way.

Cut us right back, to the roots
We can grow back, if you give us room.
Spread out our branches, and the battle is won.
Open our leaves, then block out the sun.

Then in the harshness of winter, new leaves began to sprout.
And against all the odds there was movement,
organically pushing from underground.
And the fruit that sprung was so sweet.
And all they wanted was a little rain,
because inspiration goes a long way.

Cut us right back, to the roots
We can grow back, if you give us room.
Spread out our branches, and the battle is won.
Open our leaves, then block out the sun.

Inject our acid its sulphuric into this generic music.
Watch it rot within the core, we'll spread the seeds and grow some more.
